The Eyes of the Gull

A young woman is caught between the two changing worlds of the old Newfoundland and the new, between a harsh mother who sees life as duty and drudgery, and an artist “from away” who captures her imagination and opens her heart. Duley, a novelist in pre-confederation Newfoundland, a rarity in itself, wrote larger than life characters you will long remember. This is high melodrama at its best. A must see with characters that will live on in your memory.
